After the fall of Aboshan and the return of the Mirari to the Cabal, Laquatus puts his chase aside while attempting to wrest control of the Cephalid Empire from Llawan. To this end, he allied himself with Chainer, now the head of the Cabal, who provided him with a Mirari-generated army of monsters. Defeated and imprisoned after Chainer's death, he escapes and resumes the hunt for the orb. He chases Kamahl all the way to Krosa, but finally meets his end with Kamahl's Mirari-empowered sword through his gut. Unable to cope, the Kipamu League seeks help from Tolaria, and the master wizard Barrin, together with his wife Rayne, are sent with an army of Tolarian artifact warriors. As the war reaches a standstill Latulla returns to Keld to hopefully begin the Twilight: The return to life of every great Keldon warlord interred in the great Necropolis to restore Keld to greatness. She fails, bested in a duel set by the High Council, and is exiled back to Jamuraa. There, she decides to vent her fury on the natives and orders a massive, final strike. A chapter from the novel for the Future Sight set shows Leshrac making a bargain with the Myojin of Night's Reach (from Kamigawa). The Myojin asks Leshrac to aid her in her vendetta against the dragon planeswalker Nicol Bolas. In exchange for this, she gives him her mask, which presumably contains a portion of her power. Leshrac accepts, but seems to have an agenda of his own. Leshrac manipulates the planeswalker Jeska, searching Dominaria for her missing mentor Karn, into helping him fight Bolas. The dragon planeswalker eventually returns to Dominaria, where Leshrac reveals his plan to defeat the dragon and take his power for himself. The two titans fight, with Leshrac eventually using the Mask of Night's Reach to weaken the dragon, with help from the corrupted Jeska. Before he can devour Bolas' power, however, the dragon reveals himself to be unharmed. He is rendered immune to the effects of the mask because he possesses the original, taken from the Myojin before he nearly slew her. Bolas traps Leshrac inside the original mask, and later uses it to seal the rift over Madara. Leshrac, unable to resist, is killed in the process. Liefellen

Liliana Vess

A Human Planeswalker who uses black magic, (card: Liliana Vess) her specialty being necromancy: spells that reanimate the dead, corrupt the living, and unlock power from death.

Beautiful, cunning, and ambitious to a fault, Liliana Vess is quietly one of the Multiverse's most magnetic dangers. Liliana's dark charisma is undeniable—she's agelessly striking and sharp as the edge of a razor.

Liliana Vess's most formative experience was her pact with demonic forces. As Liliana faced the limits of her human lifespan, her health and power were waning. She contacted a cabal of 4 powerful demon lords, and one dark deal later, she was restored to her height of power and beauty. Today she appears to be in her 20s, but in truth she's over a century old.

She made a deal with Nicol Bolas to manipulate Jace Beleren into taking over the Infinite Consortium on the dragon's behalf. She regretted having to use Jace in such a way, but ultimately she was willing to do whatever might help her, though Nicol Bolas denied her the reward since Jace never stepped in to Tezzeret's power vacuum.((Agents of Artifice))

At an unknown point in time, she has dueled and defeated Garruk Wildspeaker and stole an incredibly powerful necromantic artifact. After realizing its power, she decided to use it to kill the demons to whom she owed a debt rather than fulfill her contract with them. Currently, Liliana has killed one of the daemons, Kothophed, severing her contract with him.

Lim-Dûl

Lim-Dûl is an evil necromancer during the Ice Age and on Shandalar. He was a former Kjeldoran foot soldier, under the command of General Marton Stromgald, who deserted after a failed assault on goblins in the Northern Wastes. After finding Marsil's ring among the ruins of Citadel of the Conclave of Mages in the Northern Wastes he was possessed by the spirit of Mairsil. He is guided by the demons/planeswalkers Leshrac and Tevesh Szat.

Lim-Dûl attempted to wipe out the Kjeldorans and Balduvians during the Ice Age with years of constant attacks by undead. He tried to prolong the Ice Age and the existence of the Shard. By those means he was striving for dominion of Dominaria. Lim-Dûl's ultimate bid for power was almost successful; after using his necromantic powers to re-animate legendary Kjeldoran General Marton Stromgald, Lim-Dûl used Stromgald to convince the Knight's of Kjeldor to assassinate King Darien. The assassination was stopped by Jaya Ballard, resulting in a final battle between the newly unified Kingdoms of Balduvian and Kjeldor, and the undead forces of Lim-Dûl, and a magical battle between Jodah and Lim-Dûl. Near the end of the battle, with both wizards powers expended and both armies devastated, Leshrac appeared to summon Lim-Dûl. Furious at Lim-Dûl for wasting his army, Leshrac removed Marsil's ring (and Lim-Dûl's right hand) and took Lim-Dûl and escaped to Shandalar shortly before Freyalise cast the World Spell. After that, Lim-Dûl's castle at Tresserhorn was left in the care of the Keepers and The Lord of Tresserhorn.
